Sapa Valley Trek with Sapa Weather Trekking Tour – An Authentic Journey with Local Hmong Guides
Sapa Weather Trekking Tour is a local social enterprise proudly run by guides from the Hmong ethnic minority group, originally from the beautiful Muong Hoa Valley. We were born and raised in the mountains of Sapa, and we know every trail, rice terrace, village, and forest like our own home. Joining our Sapa Valley trek is not just about hiking – it is about walking into real local life, culture, and traditions that have been passed down for generations.
- Our multi-day Sapa Valley trek is designed for travelers who want to experience authentic villages, stunning rice fields, and meaningful cultural exchanges with local people. With Sapa Weather Trekking Tour, you trek with experienced local guides who share stories, history, and daily life along the way.
Day 1: Sapa to Xa Ho – San Ho Village Trekking Experience
Your Sapa Valley trek begins at 9:00 AM in Sapa town. After meeting your local Hmong guide, we leave the busy town behind and start trekking through some of the most spectacular rice fields in Sapa Valley. The trail takes you through rolling hills, narrow paths between terraces, and peaceful countryside where farmers still work the land by hand.
We trek from Sapa to Xa Ho Lien, continuing on to San Ho Village, a traditional Hmong village located deep in the valley. Along the way, you will see authentic local life, including farmers working in the fields, children walking to school, water buffalo, mountain streams, and small waterfalls hidden in the forest.
- If you plan your Sapa Valley trek at the end of May or early June, you will have a special opportunity to join local people planting rice. You can learn how to plant rice by hand and experience how farmers use water buffalo plowing in the rice fields – a unique and unforgettable cultural activity.
At lunchtime, you and your guide will visit a local Hmong house, where the host will show you how to cook traditional Hmong dishes using fresh local ingredients. This hands-on cooking experience gives you a deeper understanding of daily life in the village.
After lunch, the trek continues to Mao Village, where you will stay overnight in a local homestay. When you arrive, the homestay owner will welcome you warmly and show you how to make traditional Hmong rice wine. In the evening, enjoy a home-cooked dinner and relax in the peaceful mountain atmosphere.
Day 2: Mao Village to Thong Village – Panoramic Sapa Valley Views
On Day 2, after breakfast at the homestay, we continue our Sapa Valley trek toward Thong Village. Today’s route includes gentle climbs and open landscapes, giving you breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
You will trek up a small hill reaching approximately 1,600 meters above sea level. From here, if the weather is clear, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Sapa town, the Muong Hoa Valley, and even the majestic Fansipan Peak, the highest mountain in Indochina.
Lunch is served at a local camp, surrounded by nature and fresh mountain air. After lunch, we continue trekking through Thong Village, where you can observe more traditional houses and daily village life.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Ta Van Village, where you will stay overnight in a beautiful homestay with a bungalowoffering an amazing valley view. This is the perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy a peaceful evening in the heart of Sapa Valley.
Day 3: Bamboo Forest, Giang Ta Chai & Muong Hoa River Fishing
On Day 3, we start with a short and relaxing walk through a peaceful bamboo forest, heading toward Giang Ta Chai Village, home to the Red Dao ethnic minority. The trail is shaded, cool, and filled with natural sounds, making it one of the most enjoyable parts of the Sapa Valley trek.
After trekking through the village, we stop for lunch before continuing to the Muong Hoa Valley river. Here, you will have a unique chance to experience local fishing activities in the river, guided by local people who know the traditional methods.
After fishing, we visit a Red Dao family home, where you will learn how to cook the fish and prepare dinner together using local spices and techniques. This cultural exchange is a special highlight of the trek, giving you a deeper connection to the people of Sapa Valley.
After dinner, a car will transfer you back to Sapa town, marking the end of your unforgettable Sapa Valley trek with Sapa Weather Trekking Tour.
